Tengizchevroil is a leading company that produces oil, gas and associated products that fuels the modern economy. Our history is closely interlinked with the rise of an independent Kazakhstan.
TCO maintains a leading position in the field of industrial safety in terms of such standard indicators as lost working days incidents and the rate of reported incidents.
TCO continues to achieve industry-leading safety results in standard industrial safety measurements such as Serious Incidents and Total Recordable Incidents.
The Contractor Health, Environment and Safety Management Process establishes clear accountabilities, ensures active engagement of contractors, and provides a consistent CHESM program to eliminate health, safety and environment (HSE) incidents and injuries involving contractors.
The requirements and activities included in CHESM process are focused on defining TCO expectations regarding contractor HSE performance, the qualification of contractors and the monitoring of contractor performance against expectations.
Contractors involved in activities presenting risks to workforce and process safety are subject to CHESM Qualification to evaluate HSE Management Systems and ensure adequate safeguards are in place and functioning before starting work at TCO Facilities.
TCO's work is guided by two key principles: do it safely or not at all and there is always time to do it right. Every employee of TCO and its Business Partner companies is responsible for making sure that work can be safely started. Each person has the right to temporarily suspend or completely stop any work if unsafe behavior or conditions are observed. The TCO Safe Work Practices Management Group, together with other teams, ensure that Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) guidelines and procedures are continuously implemented and maintained.
Specialists of Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) participated in the 2nd Annual Conference "PetroLogistics, Transportation & Rental-2025" (Conference) organized by the PetroCouncil of Kazakhstan, where experts discussed topical issues of oil, gas, sulfur transportation, and cargo logistics.
As the leading oil producer in Kazakhstan, TCO has provided significant value to the Republic of Kazakhstan with direct financial payments totaling $201 billion. In addition to crude oil, TCO produces natural gas, propane, butane, and sulfur. Ensuring the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted transportation of these products is at the core of TCO’s operations.
Tengiz crude oil reaches international markets by both pipelines and rail. While pipelines remain the primary mode of transport, rail plays an important role in our export strategy. For liquefied petroleum gas and sulfur rail is the only mode of transportation. In 2024 alone, TCO safely loaded and transported over 100,000 railcars to more than 50 destinations. The total weight of the products transported last year is equivalent to approximately 42,000 Baiterek Towers in Astana.
“Our success is built on strong partnerships. We work closely with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NC KazMunayGas, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, LLP KazMorTransFlot, as well as key terminals, ports, and logistics providers. These collaborations are fundamental to maintaining a seamless, resilient supply chain that connects Kazakhstan’s energy resources to both domestic and global markets”, - highlighted Laurie Sasko, TCO General Manager, Marketing and Transportation.
In addition, TCO ensures the uninterrupted delivery of all marketable gas through Kazakhstan’s main gas pipeline, working closely with InterGas-Central Asia to maintain smooth and efficient gas transportation to residents and consumers.
