A new hospital that was constructed by Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) within the framework of a voluntary social infrastructure program called “Egilik” has solemnly opened its doors in Kulsary, Zhylyoi district. This event was attended by Akims of Atyrau Oblast and Zhylyoi district, residents and activists, representatives of government agencies and private companies. The new 75-bed hospital became a vivid example of joint activities in the interests of local population’s health.
The construction of the new medical complex began in May 2020. In just three years, not only a modern medical center was built dedicated to enhancing healthcare and providing residents of Zhylyoi district with high-quality medical services but also it was also equipped with the latest medical technologies and equipment. These advancements will facilitate more effective diagnosis and treatment in such areas as endocrinology, urology, laser therapy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and others. The comprehensive approach to treatment and recovery necessitated the integration of the surgical department and traumatology with an operating unit. This integration ensures that patients can receive comprehensive care, ranging from emergency surgeries to rehabilitation after injuries.
- The head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of providing people with access to high-quality healthcare. The opening of a hospital in Kulsary, equipped with modern facilities, will serve as a solution. This work will be continued for the benefit of our residents, - stated S. Shapkenov, the akim of Atyrau Oblast, during the opening ceremony.
The main hospital block is designed to accommodate 65 patients, with additional 10 beds in children's block. Both buildings are surrounded by playgrounds and dedicated recreation areas to enhance the comfort of visitors. To ensure uninterrupted clinic functioning even in unforeseen conditions, developers have installed two reservoirs—one for technical water and another for potable water. In addition to the medical facilities, the complex has all necessary support infrastructure, including a food service block, laundry facilities, a garage, and a building for medical waste disposal.
- TCO is dedicated to fostering the advancement and accessibility of healthcare in Zhylyoi District, and the modern, well-equipped complex stands as a testament to that commitment. I am confident that the new Zhylyoi District Hospital will not only deliver progressive medical care to residents but will also serve as an exemplar of compassionate healthcare, meeting patients' needs through substantial investment in high-quality infrastructure, - noted Darmen Aronov, TCO General Manager of Policy, Government and Public Affairs.
This project is just one of TCO's numerous initiatives aimed at ensuring accessibility and the development of education and healthcare in the Zhylyoi District of Atyrau Oblast. Previous initiatives, totaling more than US$2 million, have included the provision of six ambulances, communal services vehicles, costumes, and musical equipment for the district cultural house. Additionally, invataxis and special wheelchairs for dancing were provided. Also, as part of the voluntary social infrastructure program 'Egilik,' TCO annually allocates $25 million for the construction of schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and other socially significant facilities in Atyrau Oblast. Over the course of 30 years, more than 120 facilities have been built, including 8 schools and 15 kindergartens. This way, Tengizchevroil LLP continues to play a crucial role as a significant contributor to the social development of the district and the entire region.
