Health, Safety and Environment is one of the core values of LLP “Tengizchevroil”. Company aims to be the safest, most efficient oil and gas enterprise that will continue to make the maximum contribution to the economy of Kazakhstan. For this purpose, the company has implemented the so-called CHESM Process (Contractor Health, Environment, Safety Management).
The main purpose of this process is to clearly identify within contracting companies who is responsible for what, ensure that all parties closely cooperate with each other and adhere action plans on Health, Safety and Environment.
Moreover, workplace inspections are carried out for existing contractors. The inspections verify compliance with occupational safety requirements under RoK Law and TCO’s internal regulations. For instance, the availability of required documents for employees, training certificates and personal protective equipment (PPE). Inspection results are entered into a database and a score is given for the inspection.
The CHESM Process is critical to continuous safety monitoring at all TCO facilities where hundreds of contracting companies are working simultaneously. All risk data on necessity of process improvement, manual updates and many other aspects are consolidated into a single database to track safety progress.
